The short version: everything you enter stays on your iPhone. There is no account, no server holding your records, and no analytics inside the app. We cannot see your licenses, your harvests or your photographs, because they never reach us.
1. Who We Are
Hunting Tags & License Tracker is developed and published by DahVio Studios, a solo developer studio based in Long Beach, California, operated by Ray (support@dahvio.com).
2. Data Stored Only On Your Device
The app is local-first. Everything you create is written to your device's own storage and stays there:
- Seasons, dates, methods of take and jurisdictions
- Licenses, tags, permits and validations, with their numbers and expiry dates
- Draw applications and preference points
- Regulation links, your notes, and when you last reviewed them
- People in your household and the trips you plan
- Journal entries, harvests, catches and any coordinate you choose to record
- Photographs you attach, copied into the app's own storage
None of this is transmitted to DahVio Studios. There is no account to create and no sign-in, because there is nothing on our end to sign in to.
3. Your Device Backup
Because your records live in the app's documents storage, they are included in your iPhone's own encrypted backup if you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer. That backup is managed entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. DahVio Studios has no access to it.
4. Photographs and the Camera
The app asks for photo library access only when you choose to attach a photograph, and for camera access only when you choose to take one. Selected images are copied into the app's own storage so they survive independently of your library. We never upload them, scan them, or read anything else in your library.
5. Location
Location is requested only at the moment you switch on "Record where" while logging a harvest, and only as a single coordinate attached to that record. The app requests when-in-use access only, never background location, and never tracks your movement. Decline it and everything else works normally.
6. Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally by iOS, on your device, from dates you entered. There are no push notifications and no server involved, so nothing about your seasons or licenses is transmitted in order to remind you about them. Permission is requested only when you switch reminders on.
7. Calendar
If you enable calendar sync, the app creates a calendar named "Hunting Seasons" and writes your openers, application deadlines and trips into it. It writes only to that calendar, never to your personal or shared ones, and reads your calendars solely to find its own. Turning the feature off deletes that calendar and everything the app put in it.
8. Regulation Links
Opening a regulation link loads the wildlife agency's own website in an in-app browser. That agency, and any analytics it runs, receives the request the way any website visit does. We do not see what you open or when.
9. Subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, which tells the app whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated for your installation and your subscription status. It does not receive your name, your email, or anything you have entered in the app. We never see your payment details — Apple handles payment entirely.
10. Data We Do Not Collect
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses
- Your license, tag or permit numbers
- Where you hunt, or where anything was taken
- Your harvest history or your photographs
- Advertising identifiers — the app has no ads and no ad SDKs
- In-app analytics or behavioural tracking of any kind
11. Exporting and Deleting Your Data
Settings includes an Export that writes every record to a plain file you can keep, read, or move elsewhere. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device permanently. There is nothing held anywhere else for us to delete on your behalf, and no request needs to be made to us.
12. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects nothing from anyone. Households often include minors as records kept by a parent — that information is entered by the adult using the app and, like everything else, stays on their device.
13. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it and the revised version is posted here. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
