Marine Corps Order 6100.13A is the order behind the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Combat Fitness Test (CFT). It defines the events, the scoring tables, the age groups, the minimums, and the testing calendar. This page is a plain-language summary of what it contains — not a substitute for the order itself.
The PFT measures general fitness with three events, each worth up to 100 points for a 300-point maximum:
Age groups: 17–20, 21–25, 26–30, 31–35, 36–40, 41–45, 46–50, and 51+. Standards adjust by age and gender.
| Class | Total score |
|---|---|
| First Class | 235 – 300 |
| Second Class | 200 – 234 |
| Third Class | 150 – 199 |
| Fail | Below 150, or any event below its minimum |
The 150-point floor is the overall minimum. Each event also has an age- and gender-based minimum you have to clear on its own.
The CFT measures functional, combat-related fitness in utilities. It also has three events scored to a 300-point maximum, using the same First / Second / Third Class bands:
One PFT and one CFT per calendar year — typically PFT in the first half, CFT in the second.
The two tests are separated so Marines are assessed across the year, not back to back.
The order covers partial PFT/CFT credit for Marines medically unable to complete every event.
Failures and first/second/third class results feed reporting, body composition, and remedial-program requirements.
The order carries the full point tables for every rep, second, and run split. Rather than read them by hand, plug your numbers into the calculator and see your class instantly — and test what a faster run or a few more pull-ups would do.
Pull-ups or push-ups, plank, and 3-mile run — scored against the MCO 6100.13A tables, with your class and a live "what if" view.

Pull-ups or push-ups, the plank, and a 3-mile run. Push-ups cap the upper-body event at 70 of 100 points.
235 to 300. Second class is 200–234, third class is 150–199, and 150 is the overall minimum — with per-event minimums on top.
One PFT and one CFT per calendar year, spaced across the two halves of the year.
