Privacy Policy

Paper Football is a free game you play in your web browser at dahvio.com. This policy explains what the game saves on your device, what the site measures, and what happens when you post to the leaderboards or send feedback.

Effective: October 16, 2026 · adds leaderboards

The short version: there's no account and no sign-up. Your settings and best scores stay in your browser. If you choose to post a score to the leaderboards, a nickname you pick and that score are shown publicly. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, and anything you write in the feedback form is only sent if you tap Send.

1. Who We Are

Paper Football is made by DahVio Studios, a solo developer studio based in Long Beach, California, operated by Ray (ray@dahvio.com).

2. What Stays on Your Device

The game saves a few things in your browser's local storage so they're still there next time you play:

  • Your Tune settings (table grip, flick power, kick power)
  • Your computer difficulty, desk fan setting, and sound setting
  • Your best Fan Challenge and Kick Streak scores
  • Your leaderboard nickname, a random player ID the game makes up for your browser, and which scores you've already posted

Games in progress aren't saved. You can erase all of this at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

None of this is sent to DahVio Studios or anyone else, unless you post a score to the leaderboards (see section 5) or send feedback (see section 4), which includes your current settings so Ray can match feedback to how you played.

3. Analytics and Cookies

The game page uses Google Analytics, the same as the rest of dahvio.com, to understand how many people visit and play. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as:

  • Pages you view and how long you stay
  • Your device type, browser, and screen size
  • Your approximate location (country or city level), based on your IP address
  • The site or link that brought you here

DahVio Studios sees this as aggregated reports, not as information about you personally. Google processes this data under Google's Privacy Policy. You can block it with your browser's cookie or tracker settings, or with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The game works the same either way.

4. Feedback You Send

The game menu has a Send feedback form. Nothing in it leaves your device unless you tap Send. When you do, it sends:

  • The answers you picked and any note you wrote
  • Your name, only if you choose to enter one
  • Your computer difficulty, Tune settings, current or last score, and best Fan Challenge and Kick Streak scores
  • Your screen size and browser's device description (for example, the iPhone and browser version)

Feedback is delivered through Formspree, a form service that stores submissions and emails them to Ray. It's used only to improve the game. Please don't include anything sensitive in your note. To have your feedback deleted, email ray@dahvio.com.

5. Leaderboards

The game has public leaderboards for the longest Kick Streak, the best Fan Challenge, and wins against the computer on each difficulty. Posting is your choice: after a new best, the game asks before posting anything. Once you've picked a nickname, wins against the computer post on their own. When a score is posted, the game sends:

  • The nickname you chose (2 to 12 letters or numbers; no real name or account needed)
  • The score and which board it's for
  • The random player ID from your browser, so your scores stay together if you change your nickname

Scores are stored with the time they were posted in Supabase, a database service DahVio Studios uses to run the leaderboards. Your nickname and scores are shown to anyone who opens the leaderboards. The player ID isn't shown. Like any web request, Supabase receives your IP address and browser information when you post or view a board.

Please don't use your real name or anything personal as a nickname. Nicknames that are offensive may be removed. To have your leaderboard entries deleted, email ray@dahvio.com with your nickname.

6. Fonts and Hosting

The game's fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser information when it delivers them. The site is hosted on Vercel, which may keep standard request logs, such as IP address and browser, to run and secure the service.

7. No Ads, No Selling

Paper Football shows no ads. DahVio Studios doesn't sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

8. Do Not Track

The site doesn't change its behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals. To limit analytics, use the options in section 3.

9. Children's Privacy

Paper Football is a general-audience game and isn't directed at children under 13. The game doesn't need any personal information to play, and leaderboards only ask for a nickname. If you believe a child has sent us their name through the feedback form or a leaderboard nickname, email us and we'll delete it.

10. Your Choices

You can ask what feedback or leaderboard entries we have from you, or ask us to delete them, by emailing ray@dahvio.com. Settings saved on your device are yours to clear at any time.

11. Changes to This Policy

If the game's data practices change, this policy will be updated with a new effective date.
