The short version: Just Walk does not require an account, does not run analytics on your walks, and does not send your walk history to DahVio Studios. Your session history and app preferences stay on your device.
1. Who We Are
Just Walk is developed and published by DahVio Studios, a solo developer studio based in Long Beach, California, operated by Ray (ray@dahvio.com).
2. Data Stored on Your Device
To make the app useful across sessions, Just Walk stores a small amount of app data locally on your device using the iOS and Flutter local storage system (shared_preferences).
This may include:
- Saved walk sessions with start time, end time, step count, and total distance
- Derived day-level history used for the streak and days-you-walked view
- Your selected theme mode
- Your selected unit system
- Small interface counters, such as whether hint copy has already been shown
- A flag that limits how often the review prompt appears
This data is stored locally on your device only. It is not uploaded to a DahVio server, tied to a DahVio account, or used to build a behavioral profile.
3. Motion and Location Access During Walks
When you start a walk, the app may access motion data and step counter data provided by your device so it can show live step updates.
The app may also request location access during an active walk in order to estimate distance traveled.
- Location data is used on-device while the session is active
- The app stores total distance for the session, not a route history or map trace
- DahVio Studios does not receive your raw location stream
4. No Account Required. No Backend.
Just Walk has no sign-in flow, no registration system, and no cloud account required to use the app. There is no DahVio user profile attached to your walks.
5. No Analytics, Ads, or Tracking SDKs
Just Walk does not include analytics, advertising, or behavioral tracking frameworks operated by DahVio Studios. That means DahVio Studios does not receive a log of when you walk, how often you open the app, or how many steps you recorded.
6. Sharing and Review Prompts
The app can generate a share image for the days-you-walked mosaic and can ask iOS to display a standard App Store review prompt. These actions happen on your device and are only triggered through normal app use or user interaction.
Using those features does not create an account with DahVio Studios and does not upload your walk history to us.
7. Deleting or Resetting Your Data
Because your Just Walk data is stored locally on your device, removing the app from your device removes the locally stored data associated with it.
DahVio Studios does not retain a server-side copy of your walk history.
8. Children's Privacy
Just Walk is a general-use walking app. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and it does not require personal information from any user in order to function.
9. Apple's Data Practices
While DahVio Studios does not collect your walk history, Apple may collect certain information as part of normal iOS and App Store operations. For more information about Apple's own practices, please review Apple's Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
If the app's privacy or data handling practices ever change, this policy will be updated with a new effective date.
